Title: Maytag timer motor turns dial doesn't move
Post by: Lonewolf on August 08, 2011, 03:22:11 PM
I just had a relative give me the dryer. The timer motor turns (can see it spinning) but dial doesn't move in timed dry or sensor dry. Cleaned the sensor bars inside dryer, no help. Can it be a mechanical connection between motor and dial damaged due to turning the timer the wrong way. Reason I ask is the relative showed me it didn't work but turned it to the left instead of right. Light doesn't light up on timer when in off position but does shutoff. :-\. Door switch works also.

Thanks, any help is appreciated.

REplace the timer. You have a bad timer motor.
