Rear bearing, or more than likely the front drum glides have worn down to the metal frame. Seen this alot.

How hard are either of these possibilities to fix? Not exactly a seasoned repair person!

Not hard at all. I know the parts aren't that cheap though. The glides are $7 a piece X 4 and the Front bearing that the glides insert into is $18. The rear bearing is $8. Plus S&H if they are ordered online.

Thank you, I will give this a try this weekend if I can find the parts locally. If not, then as soon as I can locate and purchase   :)

You can enter your model number in the top left of this page and find your parts. If the plastic front bearing that the glides insert into is still intact you can just replace the glides. There are 4 of them. Make sure you place the dark colored ones on top and the white ones on the sides

I know when I buy local, the glides are $10 a piece, and the front bearing runs $35. Little more expensive. Make sure you vacuum everything out real good beforee you reassemble.
