Title: Maytag MAV5000AWW tub leak question
Post by: centralappliance on January 14, 2010, 09:52:04 AM
I was wondering if I can get away with replacing the tub seal only or should the tub seal kit be changed. Any thoughts

Model MAV5000AWW

The tub seal on this design washer has a few different variations.  You should change the entire kit, if this machine is built before January of 2006, it has a 10 year transmission warranty. the 35-6615 (http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=omv7WULuxaw&subid=0&offerid=225193.1&type=10&tmpid=2111&RD_PARM0=http%253A%252F%252Fwww.appliancepartspros.com%252FAppliance-Parts%252Fwhirlpool-ht-trans-s-item-number-ap4373431.aspx%253Fpn_%253D35-6615&RD_PARM1=http&RD_PARM2=%253A%252F%252Fwww.appliancepartspros&RD_PARM3=.com%252FAppliance-Parts%252Fwhirlpool-ht-trans-s-item-number-ap4373431.aspx%253Fpn_%253D35-6615) part number has the HT TRANS S and seal kit all in 1. If it's out of warranty, you must change the entire seal kit with the new bearing.
