Title: Clunking sound when washer agitates
Post by: mjordan111055 on November 02, 2009, 12:41:16 PM
I have a GE WPSE4200A0ww (http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=omv7WULuxaw&subid=&offerid=93887.1&type=10&tmpid=2111&RD_PARM1=http&RD_PARM2=%253A%252F%252Fwww.appliancepartspros&RD_PARM3=.com%252Fpartsearch%252Fmodel.aspx%253Fmodel_id%253D230413) with the same problem (http://appliancejunk.com/forums/index.php?topic=5076.0).  Mine only clunks with a medium load or larger.  For what is worth mine does not have the shipping bars either.  My sound is coming from the upper rear area.  I think the noise I am hearing is coming from the rod spring assembly. I was able to get my hand back there and move the bar and when I did I heard a similar noise. Mine on clunks for a couple of minutes and then goes away.  I am sure it will get worse.  I was able to remove the front panel but got stuck on removing the top cover.  It appears my lid switch sensor is wired straight into the panel.  Any ideas on how to remove the top/lid cover.

I found the rod/spring assemblies for around $30 for all four.  Thanks for any and all help.....

If the support rods are not broken or bent then I don't see how they can be making a noise ...No Shaft & mode shifter. Check the base . it my be bent up and hitting the pulley.
