Integra - SHX68M09UC

After the wash cycle, the door is still stuck in the closed position, with the detergent still inside.

either the mechanical trip release, or the electric release on dispenser has gone. you may need a engineer to correct.

engineer?

You mean a appliance repair technician?

If the owner can get the part I would think that they would be able to repair it themselves.

Hey, Al...the Brits have always referred to their techs as engineers. Heck, if our service guys had to pass as many certs as theirs to be a serviceman, we would be engineers too. I consider my self  an engineer even if I don't have the  sheepskin.  36 years experience would be a PhD.

The guy just needs a new dispenser assy.
