Title: oven will not unlock
Post by: dwhaoa1one on August 17, 2021, 09:41:27 AM
I have a single 30in GE wall oven that I can not unlock after a self cleaning cycle. since it is locked I don't know its model number. but after I did some research by googling I found out it is either a JTP30 or JTP70. anyway I believe the lock is wb14t10082.

I called a GE tech and a non GE tech. none of them could open it. the oven fan keeps running if I switch the power on from the circuit breaker box. and I see F3 error on the panel. both techs tried to use a hanger wire to move the latch but failed. I can see the latch is restrained from moving by some metal on both sides by looking into the little gap above the door.

I tried to google some kind of animation to show the lock's mechanism but didnt find one. anyone knowns how this lock works and how to unlock it manually. thanks

since nobody answered this I am back to answered it myself. I ordered a long hook from amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00H1L14V0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
which costs about $27.99 and stick into the gap and hook to the latch and pull.... openned it up. the problem of the hanger wire is that it yields but this hook doesn't. hope this helps.
