Post by: haroldsappliance on February 12, 2020, 03:04:18 PM
Looking for help in locating correct freezer thermistor part # for Sears refrigerator model number. 596.72002015. I've exhausted nearly all resources in trying to locate this part number. Sears says they can't help me. That I need a part number. I need your help. On the component specification sheet it gives it's following values. 2700 ohms @ 77 degrees f,  7964 ohms @ 36 f and 23,345 @ 18 degrees V. Every exploded diagram and parts sheet I've looked at does not list this part. Thermistor located on outside wall of evap cover. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thermistor part number should be 12002355
thanks Jdm. Yes taking an educated guess you would think that that is the right part number, but it's not. The ohm value is way out of range. . An update on this Is calling for part number w10316760. I ended up taking the thermistor cover part number and going to RCcom and looking for related parts. And this is what I found. . This is a clip on evaporator thermistor, which is odd, but that's what is calling for. It goes on to say, go to service matters for install instructions which are pretty worthless. So it's going from a wall mount to an evaporator clip on. Go figure . Oddball refrigerator. What a headache. Hope this helps somebody else in the future.

Hey, thanks a lot Dab. No, they do not make it easy today. I spend some time 6 to 10 hours a week researching and studying.
