Title: Maytag gas dryer mode l HYG 3658AWW
Post by: Thorning on August 20, 2019, 04:47:25 PM
I was given this dryer for free today with the advice that the owner could not get it to heat  no matter what. I have checked everything to no avail and cannot get it to turn on the burner. The solenoids click on after the glow stick turns off but no heat. All t-stats, the hest/light sensor was changed and the thermal fuse were bypassed and still no heat. My next effort will be to change out the gas valve thinking it might be sticking shut. Do any of you guys have any knowledge of this model Maytag  gas unit that indicates it is unusual. ? This unit has a pedastal mount for the gas valve  which makes it very difficult to work around unless the drum is removed. HELP !!!

The gas valve was the culprit . Also to make sure it would work fora good long time the solenoids were changed. Plenty of heat now.
