Title: Electrolux Dryer EFME617STT0 Lint Build Up
Post by: Atech on May 23, 2019, 07:28:00 AM
I've run into a few of these where the blowers are getting clogged with lint due to poor filter design. Has anyone heard of a factory fix yet?

Thanks,

Dave

So I noticed the part number has changed on the blower wheel. I guess that could keep it from building up on the wheel itself, but what about all the build up in the filter housing?

I noticed the newer ones have a "U" shaped filter and housing. Does this help?  Same thing on the Samsung's with similar design.

Frigidaire, Electrolux, and GE are not easy to work on and not as good of a design IMO as the old Maytags, Speed Queen,  Kenmore, and Whirlpools. I just bought a used Speed Queen yesterday that is at least 30 years old. I  Cleaned it and did minor repair in about 2 hours. Hard to beat that !!!

factory update for blower wheel and lint screen. if the blower wheel is black in color it has an opposite ionic charge as lint and will attract it like a magnet, needs to be changed to wheel white in color. lint screen update is just felt to close clearance gaps
