Title: Whirlpool Cabrio Washer skips to end of cycle
Post by: Dt13579 on February 16, 2019, 06:10:41 PM
Hello,

I have come across this issue where the normal cycle starts fine and and when it reaches 29 mins the time jumps to 4 mins and the washer drains/spins and ends cycle. I have already tried replacing the main board. Any help would be greatly appreciated. MOD WTW6700TW1

Are you getting a OL oe UL error code at the end of the cycle?

No error at all... it just ends as if it completed the cycle.

Do you know how to go into diagnostics on the control and see if there are any error codes stored there?

I normally easily go into diagnostic on any whirlpool appliance but this one didn't have any instructions on running a diagnostic. I am subscribed to service matters but could not find anything useful for this model. Any tips?

If you can access service matters type in W10026628 in search box for the tech sheet.  Also, for a tip, if you donít find what you are looking for on service matters, try dropping the last 3 letters/digits in the model number.  If you need more help, or if you get it fixed, let me know what happened.

Okay, that's a great tip. I'll have to try it this week at the customer's place. Have you ever come across an issue like this where it skips through the cycle and no error comes up?

Without knowing about the error codes, I would just be guessing.  But, if your error codes do show F70, or F72, I would be looking at suspension shocks (spring hangers ), or friction ( rust ) on transmission shaft, preventing basket moving freely.  If this was a dryer, I would just say the time in the display is estimated.

Also might try it with an extra rinse option, or fabric softener added option, and see if you get same results.

most likely thrust bearing is stuck; when that happens it will skip cycles causing all kinds of issues;
