Title: refrigerator evaporator fan not working
Post by: plucky71 on August 31, 2018, 01:18:39 PM
FSC23F7DSB6  Frigidaire

A few weeks ago, after a power outage, it did not resume normal operation.  In the past it always has.

The fan is not working. Getting e f code. I disconnected the fan.

The plug feeding the fan has:

-12v DC when testing brown to red and also brown to yellow
-28 AC volts brown to red and brown to yellow

The fan disconnected has 1.7 ohms

The fan will spin when I jump 12 volts to it directly.

Frigidaire Refrigerator Error Code = EF
Condition = Evaporator fan circuit failure
Repair or Check = Check wiring between evaporator fan and control board
Parts Needed = Evaporator fan or control board    //// on a side note I seen where several people had unplug the unit for 5 minutes or more and it seemed to remove a glitch from the main board. Might try putting this unit into diagnostic mode and if possible checking and removing any area codes

you should get fan error code, normally is fan motor it self fails.

I replaced the control board and that fixed my problem. Thanks for the help.
