Title: Samsung Washer 8e error code Model WF457ARGSGR AA NEED HELP
Post by: climb2core on December 01, 2017, 07:03:23 AM
We have a 3 year old front loading Samsung washer having progressive difficulty with spinning.   It recently began throwing 8e code.  We called Samsung who directed us to a "factory technician".   On the phone call while driving to my place, he told me that the parts would be $360 to fix it, and he wasn't even at my house yet!

I was at work, but it turns out that the repairman has 0 knowledge about trouble shooting and is there just to put a bunch of new parts in.  I was told I needed to do replace the following parts:

DC92-01040A (https://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=omv7WULuxaw&subid=0&offerid=225193.1&type=10&tmpid=2111&RD_PARM1=http&RD_PARM2=%253A%252F%252Fwww.appliancepartspros&RD_PARM3=.com%252Fsamsung-assy-pcb-main-dc92-01040a-ap5622915.html)
DC97-17021A (https://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=omv7WULuxaw&subid=0&offerid=225193.1&type=10&tmpid=2111&RD_PARM1=http&RD_PARM2=%253A%252F%252Fwww.appliancepartspros&RD_PARM3=.com%252Fsamsung-assy-s-panel-dc97-17021a-ap5622028.html)
DC92-01032A (https://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=omv7WULuxaw&subid=0&offerid=225193.1&type=10&tmpid=2111&RD_PARM1=http&RD_PARM2=%253A%252F%252Fwww.appliancepartspros&RD_PARM3=.com%252Fsamsung-assy-pcb-sub-dc92-01032a-ap5622657.html)

I did a bit of reading, and it sounds like it may be the lower harness/loose wires that is the problem?    See this thread:
https://www.appliancejunk.com/forums/index.php?topic=15432.0 (https://www.appliancejunk.com/forums/index.php?topic=15432.0)

I really need help and any insight would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I know the other post is for a top loader washer, but the code seems to mean the same thing as this front loader washer.Maybe someone that works on them can help you out  later but  I can give you a service manual if thats of any help to you.  https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pXzT_ax-QgReSedsmSEHLBW1n0dGErPs/view?usp=sharing (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pXzT_ax-QgReSedsmSEHLBW1n0dGErPs/view?usp=sharing)

Thanks!  Thatís a good start!  If anyone knows part numbers for lower wire harness thatíd be helpful as well?  Not sure if part goes by different name officially?

Usually a 8E error code means you have a mem sensor defect. The part number is DC93-00278D (https://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=omv7WULuxaw&subid=0&offerid=225193.1&type=10&tmpid=2111&RD_PARM1=http&RD_PARM2=%253A%252F%252Fwww.appliancepartspros&RD_PARM3=.com%252Fsamsung-assy-sensor-mems-dc93-00278d-ap5621713.html) if you have two replace both of them.

I just wanted to follow up in case anyone else ever has this problem and finds this thread.   It was just a broken wire (wired too tightly) that goes to the sensor on the drum.  When the drum shakes, it stressed the wire and broke it over time.  It cost me $0.00 to fix as I just repaired the broken wire.

Works perfectly now.

Thanks everyone that chimed in!

This was EXACTLY the issue I had - without your post, I would have paid for a service call and a replacement part.  Thanks to you... $0.00 and FIXED!
