All depends on the unit efficiency,  size, does it need new ductwork,  is it a big reputable company or a smaller outfit.  To many variables. I've heard of people quoted $6000-10,000.  I don't do installs so I dont know for sure what costs are now a days.

Firstly i would like to say thanks for answering.
This price is too expensive what you have told. I think we should change the idea to replace  the air Conditioning.  >:( ???

as already mentioned you need a load caculation done on the home to determine the tonage needed to properly cool. Once a load caculation is done you can start getting pricing. Depending on the size of the home, the seer rating of the unit installed. Extras needed to get the efficienty out of the new unit.
If you are not willing to plunk down 5-15k on a system guess desk fans will be your method

Yea, repair may not be bad if it is broken.  A lot of contactors and capacitors go bad.  Usually,  if you have a refrigerant leak and the unit is old, they may suggest replacing everything.

Most homeowners report spending between $3,736 and $7,185 to have air conditioning installed. This price is more typical of a central A/C unit installation rather than a window central air conditioner addition which typically averages about $300. Your total cost for the job will depend on the type of system you choose.

The size of your home will determine the type of air conditioning system you will need.

There are several types of systems, including:

Window units: installed in windows as a singular A/C system unit
Split systems: either as mini-split (ductless) or central systems that are installed as inside and outside units

Central system: uses duct system that's usually combined with the heating system to cool a whole house

Portable units: comes as a split, hose or evaporative system for ease of movement around the house

A window air conditioning unit will generally suffice to keep a smaller home cool on warm spring and summer days. The cost to install a window air conditioner averages between $150 and $300, depending on the size you need. Installing a window air conditioning unit can bring added comfort for a reasonable price, but it will be less powerful than a central air conditioning system. If you have a bigger home with multiple rooms, you will probably need to have a central air conditioner installed.
