Title: GE Side by Side, freezer side is warm
Post by: tallboyt on February 21, 2015, 07:16:14 AM
I have a GE TFX24ZRXA WW and I noticed that my freezer side isn't working like it should. The fridge side is fine, but the freezer side is a little warm but there isn't any frost on the back wall. Where do I go from here? Thanks

Measure the temp. If higher than say 10 degrees or so look at the frost pattern. Start to monitor the run time and see if it ever shuts off. If it shuts off with a warm freezer, it could be out of range thermistors. :P

Take freezer back panel off and look for frost behind there.Post picture of frost pattern on evaporator.Frost can build up behind panel before it shows up on the outside of panel. Is light switch shutting off light?Ice maker if you have one could be stuck with heater on if you have one. This refrigerator has no thermistor.Would highly start with taking panel off if everything is ok with above stated components  http://www.appliancepartspros.com/parts-for-ge-tfx24zrxaww.html (http://www.appliancepartspros.com/parts-for-ge-tfx24zrxaww.html)

Looks like you got a seal system problem and that will not be worth fixing. This is a normal frost pattern on a Evaporator.Slight pattern from top to bottom.
