Title: Samsung Model DMT800 Blinking CE
Post by: jstubbe71 on January 08, 2015, 05:59:00 AM
Hello,

I had an issue with my dishwasher (Samsung DMT800) blinking 5E when i checked the manual it told me to check for a kinked drain hose which i did and found nothing. After putting the dishwasher back in place and hooking up all the connections it is now blinking "CE" and i have no control of any buttons on the key pad. Do you have any idea on how to fix this problem? Please Help!

I don't see ce listed,  might be another error with a segment missing. .. take a photo

Are you sure it's not oE?  That's an overflow error. There could be water on the leakage sensor.  Or there's gunk in the case assembly (water inlet assembly).  Double check the error.

It definitely said CE, but when i had it pulled out i tipped it forward to look at the bottom and i did get some water running out when i did that. Could that sensor may have gotten wet when i tipped it? I'm at work now when i get home i will post a photo.

Thanks for any help!!

CE

Abnormal water temperature detected
Water drain begins if abnormal water temperature is sensed at the initial time of water supply. If the frequency higher than 25.20KHz is sensed, water will be drained by force.

Check thermistor connections
Check thermistor

Any luck with the thermistor, jstubbe71?  I'd appreciate any insight into resolving this issue, as my dishwasher is similarly afflicted  :'(

I have replaced the entire sump assembly which included the thermistor. I also changed the water inlet valve and the pcb board and it still has the same CE error. I have a service tech coming out on Monday :-(

I will let you know what the service tech says or does to fix the problem.

Ce is a temp error for their laundry products,  it doesn't exist on their Dishwashers. I do agree it agree it says ce however!

When I called Samsung direct they told me the CE code meant "Communication Error" that's why I changed the PCB board. Every online tech from different forums told me to change the thermistor or heating element so that's why I decided to just change the whole sump assemble since I had remove most parts just to get to the thermistor. Hopefully this is a minor fix I'm not sure whats left to replace?!?!

Uranium232......... I finally have my dishwasher fixed. The problem was a little plastic tab broke off my upper rack adjuster ( I have attached photos) which got stuck in a hose that has a flapper in it to allow water in one direction but not the other. That took care of the 5E code. As far as the CE code goes, its a fault in the control panel and all he did to fix it was unplug it from the pcb board ( its the third plug starting from the left ) and it reset itself. Lesson learned for me!! I will always call an authorized repair company from now on.

I hope this helps you! Let me know how it goes.

Jerry,

I'm glad to hear you got everything resolved.  That's great!  I had a tech out years ago for those plastic bits getting stuck.  Since I've replaced the holder, no issues, but I know there's great online resources to permanently fix it (I never used the height adjust anyway).

I've checked and re-verified all connections at the PCB and took a look at the control panel.  Still no luck with the flashing "CE".  At this point, I'm going to try a replacement control board because the new ones should fix that annoying power button issue that I've never planned to get fixed.

Thanks!
Adam

Adam,

Did u try unplugging and plugging back in that third plug on the pcb board? With the fuse breaker on. The machine must have power in order for the control panel to reset itself.

The result is a faulty display board but if u loose power he told me to just unplug and plug back in that third plug on the pcb board which kills the power to the display board which is blinking CE and it resets itself. If you've done that I wish you luck!

Jerry,

You are my hero!  I had not thought of leaving the power on.  After disconnecting and reconnecting at the PCB, the error was still flashing, but I could turn the dishwasher off.  It's running a cycle right now, and so far, is a complete success!  Thanks for saving the day and sparing me additional scorn from my wife :).

I went ahead and ordered that control panel, so I should be able to get this thing 100% functional with the power button after that.  Disassembling this thing is not my favorite pastime, so if it dies again, I think I'll be going shopping...

Thanks again for the help and updated progress.

/Adam

It worked for me. After disconnecting and reconnecting it, the display stopped working completely. Then I turned the breaker off and back on and then it started to work like normal. The key to doing this is that the power has to stay on while you unplug that wire. But in my case, after doing this step, I had to turn the breaker off and back on.
