Title: Oven Thermostat Replacement for a 20" Hotpoint Gas Range
Post by: ghostmetro on April 22, 2014, 11:29:40 AM
Hello.

I need to replace the oven thermostat in my 20" Hotpoint gas range (Model No. RGA520 EWBWH) and I'm looking for some help in finding the best, compatible option. Below is a photo and description of the faulty thermostat in question:

HARPER-WYMAN
6460G0018A MEXICO
180 2A302
5A(NON IND) 120 VAC
L1 0531 BKE

I found another Harper-Wyman oven thermostat online (shown below) that is selling for only $25 brand new and looks identical to the one I have, but the part numbers don't match:

HARPER-WYMAN
6460G0022A MEXICO
624486
5A(NON.IND) 120 VAC
L1 0936 BKE

Can anyone tell me what the chances are that these parts would be interchangeable?
Any recommendations for an affordable, compatible replacement part?

Thanks!
- Jason

This part crosses over to a new part number and you can call them to make sure it fits .They have the best return policy even after you install it you can return it if you find out that something else is wrong with the oven.http://www.appliancepartspros.com/brown-oven-thermostat-1802a302-ap3387194.html (http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=omv7WULuxaw&subid=0&offerid=225193.1&type=10&tmpid=2111&RD_PARM1=http&RD_PARM2=%253A%252F%252Fwww.appliancepartspros&RD_PARM3=.com%252Fbrown-oven-thermostat-1802a302-ap3387194.html)
You can even see the old part # if you click on the pictures of the thermostat.
