Title: JS42 Cooktop Replacement?
Post by: 91boz on October 28, 2013, 10:53:39 PM
Does anyone have a link to a service manual for this model? I am trying to replace a cracked ceramic cooktop. Does the front control panel have to be removed? I see 4 1/4" screwslooking up under the control panel and a chrome phillip screw on each side below the cooktop. I remomed these but the cooktop or the contron panel would not budge. Does the front control panel have to be removed? A link to the manual would be helpfull.

Thanks In Advance!

Yes you need to remove the control panel. Pull knobs, remove nuts holding panel to infinite switches, remove panel, and start removing screws. Its pretty straight forward once you get the panel off.
