Title: Ge washer WLSR2200J5WW no spin
Post by: jason1979g on August 14, 2013, 08:38:31 PM
working on an GE washer model #WLSR2200J5WW that wont spin. it will agitate and drain fine just wont go in to spin in any selection of the timer.  I cant seem to locate a manual in the search engine here. so if anyone has a manual or possible cause of failure, let me know.

Does the motor run in spin mode? or just hum? or total silence? (other than pump running)

Remove front panel, rotate motor pulley by hand CW (viewed from below). Should turn belt, main pulley, transmission and basket.

Maybe. Check for 120vac on the brown wire at the pressure switch after water has drained out. If washer is filling ok, then pressure switch appears to be working ok but if hose is clogged somewhat at the tub air dome, it may take longer than normal for the pressure to drop enough for switch to go to empty position which is required for spin to work.

I checked the brown wire. there was 120vac  till the spin started. then went to 1.044vac. I took off the clear hose and tryed to blow through it. I wasn't able to move much air through it but some was going through. So I'm not sure if its clogged or not.

Did you check voltage after pulling hose off from pressure switch? Power feed (120vac) to pressure switch is on the yellow/black wire, once water is drained it is switched to the brown wire. If during spin, you have 120vac on yellow/black but not on brown (with hose removed), switch is bad. You have wiring diagram from behind control panel?
