Title: r22a freon substitute

can these new freon substitutes be injected into systems[window ac/refrigerator] with real freon or must the freon be recovered first???

Yes, most of the refrigerant substitutes work with POE or AKB oils, instead of MO found in r-22/12/502 older products.

The old refrigerant must be recovered. The drop-in replacements will work with mineral oil. Most of them have a little butane in the mix so they're miscible with mineral oil.

Agree with tgoods they work,but do not mix them. Recover and pump the old out first.
