10 while deaths in "recent" years.  Whatever that means.  Sounds like you're more likely to accidentally shoot yourself with a gun than have an appliance take your life.

This article says the recall system is not effective.

The current recall system requires the owner to register their new appliance.  Nobody does, and this is why most recalls are never performed.  To fix this, the manufacturers are going to have to require that the lazy irresponsible appliance owners register when they buy the appliance.

Just went out on a refrigerator and their Frigidare dishwasher burned up the kitchen and they were told by the insurance company there was a recall on it. I don't remember one. There are so many I can't keep track any more.

This article is from England or Europe ,  not US.    Not that the US is any better.    I can't tell you how many burned up Maytag relay/Overload/Capacitor combo's I put on when they had problems with them burning up.     Never did see any actual fires, though.

I see the same relays burned up on Whirlpool built products as well, OH NO, it's only Maytag. Right.

Old stove,  your right .    I seen it on whirlpools,  kitchenaid,  maytag,  and jenn aire.     You'd think something like this they'd get right.
