Title: Whirlpool Duet Washer WFW9250WW00 shows LF 'Long Fill' Error
Post by: AJ on May 19, 2012, 07:37:47 AM
Whirlpool Duet Front Load Washer Model # WFW9250WW00

Customer said the washer was showing LF in the display.
LF is the error code for Long Fill.

Sometimes I find a bad or plugged water inlet valve or need to replace the water valve.
In this case I found the drain hose wash siphoning the water out of the washer as it tried to fill.

I pulled the drain hose up out of the stand pipe a little to keep it from siphoning and it worked fine after that.

I have same problem with the LF code. My problem is the washer will overfill about a third way up the door and that is when the machine stops with LF error code??

Could be the water inlet valve is sticking open. What is the model number of your washer?

Inlet valve screens clogged, turn off water, remove hoses, remove screens with small screwdriver, wash , reinstall.

Sounds like a pressure tube/switch problem to me. If its overfilling and erroring out on LONG fill, it obviously does not understand how OVER filled it is??

had a call like this for the same problem...    the customer had tried unplugging, waiting and restarting the cycle several times...  when I got there the drum was full past the halfway point ...  :D

opened it up and found that the pressure tube had somehow pulled free of the pressure sensor...   that was the only issue with it...

Worked on one the other day and the only problem was the pressure hose had a very small leak that really was not noticeable until I blew through it...Try it...

I had this error code, and not knowing what else to do, I unplugged the machine. I restarted the machine and no problem Sometimes it helps to do simple trouble shooting first

Thanks a lot for the information. The pressure hose out of the pressure switcher is the problem for my case. Simply putting the pressure hose back to the pressure switcher resolves the issue. It's kind of loose after 6 years of usage. Applied tape to avoid loose again.
